The Edgar Wood Society had a rewarding AGM on Saturday afternoon in the ‘Great’ hall followed by an enlightening talk by Lisa McFarlane, titled ‘The Challenge for Architects Specialising in Conservation’.
Lisa is a RIBA Specialist Conservation Architect and Director of Seven Architects, past President of the Manchester Society of Architects and is a full Member of the IHBC. She is passionate about ensuring sensitive historical buildings can be enjoyed for future generations and has developed specialist expertise in conservation architecture.
She was responsible for the restoration of Edgar Wood School Rooms here at the Methodist Church in Middleton.

In addition to thanking Lisa for her presentation, a thank you was also given to Audrey Riches who was stepping down after being committee member since the Society was set up.
