Edgar Wood Centre update

Today, officers of the Edgar Wood Society, Victorian Society, Historic England and Manchester City Council met with the owner and manager of the Edgar Wood Centre, formerly First Church of Christ Scientist, Manchester. The meeting was to discuss the present condition of the building, what the repair and conservation issues were and how best to move the restoration and reuse project to the next phase. It was a very positive meeting and the outline of a way forward was agreed.

A particular aspiration is to restore the two tall feature chimneys at the end of each wing which originally framed the building and composition. They can be seen in this historical photograph.
