The Edgar Wood Society hosted an Italian themed evening celebrating Edgar Wood’s time in Italy, which he visted regularly before finally settling there and building the last of his three homes in Porto Maurizio, Liguria. In England, Wood is remembered primarily as an exceptional architect but in Italy, he is reknown for his paintings. Lots of people enjoyed a great evening of Italian food, wine and friendly chat. Events were finished off by an outstanding slideshow by Anthony Dolan, the Edgar Wood film maker. This gave everyone a rare insight into the quality and variety of Edgar Wood’s Italian oils, watercolours and pastels. Many thanks to Anthony, the caterers and everyone who contributed to the evening.
