Edgar Wood Society

First Church of Christ Scientist the Edgar Wood Centre
Edgar Wood Centre, Manchester 1903

We are an enthusiastic community who enjoy Arts & Crafts buildings and furniture. We formed in 2011 to support the research and conservation of Edgar Wood’s buildings, garden suburbs, furniture and artwork and those of his contemporaries in the Northern Art Workers Guild.

We are dedicated to:

  • Restoring and reusing our base, the Arts & Crafts Church, Edgar Wood’s masterpiece in Middleton, Manchester
  • Hosting a programme of events, workshops and visits to places of interest

The best way to get involved is to become a member: this gives access to lectures, trips and events and to a research group which regularly comes up with new discoveries.

Annual membership is £15 for individuals and £25 for families.
